Trouble Ahead for the Millenium Generation
The millennium generation, with all its demands for instant gratification, is headed for trouble. Those demands are loudest from those young people who grew up in public schools, divorced families, or among a mass ol material goods. The result: fustration. The setbacks they will inevitably face in life will be blamed on others. Because of the way they were raised, it will be more challenging than ever to readt them. Their belief in ‘God' is an all time low. Romance will take a huge hit because they will be unable to deal with losses in a relationship without becoming bitter, mean and angry. Unfortunately, the cheating, lying, and disrespect in their relationships are going to cause a lot of anger and loss of self-esteem. Dreams of a future will be just dreams so long as values and good manners remain rare. The lack of role models, lack of winning challenges and prospects for a peaceful development into mature adults will bring out the worst in  the  white  youth  instead
of the best. Selfishness will reach an all time high and friendships will suffer. And it is not their fault; its their parents fault, A high percentage of the millennium generation will use drugs, legal and illegal, just to hide their pain. Fortunately there is a solution, and that is for the youth (19-30 year-olds) to go into the third world and spend a month, or two months. or two years performing community service and getting to know the people in impoverished nations. I guarantee that this would cause a huge change for the better, both for the people they help and lor the young people themselves. Leaming that many poor people are happier with the little they have than most Americans are with our fancy cars and big screen T\/ s, and realizing how well we have it in the US, would foster growth and maturity in young Americans who have become selfish and bitter. Selflessness and compassion would be restored to the generation, tuming them into good and decent people
