I have never been more impressed by a movie that combined courage with raw courage. Courage a doctor took in risks and said it best ‘Risks are opportunities .... ‘ And the raw courage of his assistant VIVIAN THOMAS a black man who fought every form of discrimination to better the cardiac world. And this all happened at John Hopkins University. lt began in Nashville and the doctor had to have his assistant every step of the way.
I look at this as a partnership in ending cardiac problems. lt is about a nsk a doctor took with a baby with a ‘blue heart' during 1943. And he would not proceed with the pioneer operation without his black assistant. The moral of the story are three. A risky operation, a black assistant and a scared team and support group but the largest part of the story is the credit that went un-accounted for the black assistant. The doctor took all the credit but at the end the doctor said as his life was ending that ‘You do not live or have a life without regrets...' and turned to the black assistant and with his eyes showed so much thanks to the black assistant. After the doctor passed away the black assistant was given his due credit from a group he inspired.
It was long overdue but living a life in the shadows but contributing so much to the doctors’ success. Long overdue credit is needed to the people in the shadows behind the successful person. No one is a success without selfless people and I say it again NO ONE IS A SUCCESS WITHOUT SELFLESS PEOPLE. Support is the key to success. And also never giving up. For a long time a certain group has been selfless and not credited. This group is teachers. They are the

foundation for success. The black assistant Vivian Thomas became a teacher. When Coretta Scott King died she was the selfless one behind the success of her husband Dr. Martin Luther King. The selfless people are why we proceed and gain control of life and gain peace of mind and they are the teachers who made us what we are.
Finally I wonder how much GOD helped Dr. Vivian Thomas persevere. GOD works miracles and in mysterious ways. I respect people who have faith the most and my dad had faith and he is my hero because he was selfless too raising 13 kids and establishing a family business today so successful because of who he was. But I told my mother when my dad died that dad was a great man because of 2 principals, GOD and his wife, my mother, truly the more selfless one in the marriage. Here's to all the selfless people and may GOD watch over you and your offspring.
I love selfless people and I know my dear friend is selfless because she is my friend and demanded that of me. Yes "Something Heaven made" is something HE made in us loo because we are selfless at times when we think of others. The best remark I love is "There goes a great person always thinking of others and never thinking of himself"' I had a friend die recently and that can be said of him, Ray McCarthy. We need inspiration and I know a lot of people who are selfless that inspire me and I will always talk of Dr. Vivian Thomas, Mrs. Coretta Scott King, my dad, my dear friend Michelle and my departed friend who is in HEAVEN Ray McCarthy as examples of selflessness and give thanks to GOD for my witness of them and the selfless group, teachers.
