AMERICARES
MISSION STATEMENT
AmeriCares is a nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization, which provides immediate response to emergency medical needs- and supports long-term healthcare programs for all people around the world, irrespective of race, creed or political persuasion.

AmeriCares solicits donations of medicines, medical supplies and other relief materials from U.S. and international manufacturers, and delivers them quickly and efficiently to indigenous healthcare and welfare professionals in 137 countries around the world.

Financial contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations are used to defray the cost of AmeriCares' programs. Since its inception in 1982, AmeriCares has delivered more
than $2.9 billion worth of life-saving supplies to those in need.

AmeriCares is a global relief organization attending to the needs of not only those in foreign lands, but to individuals and families here at home in the United States. AmeriCares has three domestic programs and supports many ongoing healthcare projects throughout the country.

AmeriCares also provides a traditional camping experience for children ages 6-13 who are living with HIV / AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses. At Camp AmeriKids, our goal is to provide our campers with exciting and rewarding experiences that they will carry with them forever. It is our hope that the time spent at Camp ArneriKids provides the children with a respite from the difficulties that affect their daily lives.

The AmeriCares Free Clinics provide free primary    health     care     to    Connecticut
residents who have no access to either private or public health insurance benefits in a setting where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. The Free Clinics help those who are making a sincere effort to help themselves and their families, but who do not have the financial resources to pay for medical care.

AmeriCares HomeFront is the largest domestic outreach program undertaken by the AmeriCares Foundation each year. HomeFront is dedicated to bringing hands-on help and hope to low income, elderty and handicapped homeowners through a one-day community-based repair blitz. Since its inception in 1988, AmeriCares HomeFront has renovated over 1,550 homes, community centers and shelters for people who, because of physical or hnancial limitations, do not have the means to do it themselves.
